What is CFD?
CFD or Computational Fluid Dynamics is a branch of fluid dynamics, which solves fluid flow governing equation using numerical methods(in the form of computer codes) to solve fluid flow problems. In other words, CFD can simulate/predict fluid flow.
Why CFD?
Since a CFD analysis can simulate a fluid flow scenario. We can use the CFD tool to predict the flow profile of the area of interest and evaluate the effectiveness of the designed ventilation/AC system during design stage. CFD gives the power of foresight by providing the HVAC engineer how his/her HVAC system would perform. A CFD analysis can provide fluid velocity, temperature, RH & mass fraction of particles in the area of interest.
